Here you will find information about eating disorders, how to get help and how to help someone you know with an eating disorder.

Young people have helped us to create this site, they have made suggestions, sent in articles and are constantly reviewing the site.

To help you find your way around this site we have created a page that lists the contents of each section click here

Monitoring questionnaire

To ensure that every young person affected by an eating disorder in the UK has the opportunity to participate as a beat service user.  We are monitoring the sexual orientation and ethnicity of our service users to make sure that our services and resources are inclusive of all young people.
Please take the time to answer a few questions.

Eating Disorders in Schools - Questionnaire

We are doing some research into eating disorders in schools, and whether schools are doing enough about the problem. If you would like to help us - and attend a school or sixth form - please click here.

beat Young Ambassadors and Advisors

This exciting scheme gives young people affected by eating disorders the opportunity of taking a more active part in the life of beat.

We need your help in becoming the voice of young people, being heard in a range of settings including national conferences, in newspapers and on television and in major research and government consultations.

"Working with beat has given me much comfort, release, confidence and acknowledgement that one person alone may not be able to shift such barriers, but as a team... together... you can build up the friendship, courage, strength, support, ideas, will and self worth to keep fighting to break down the myths and gain treatment, care and respect for someone who has been affected by this serious illness. Together we can beat eating disorders." - Young Ambassador

Ambassadors can also work towards gaining a Youth Achievement Award
